The Great Apes
The great apes need our help,
They can't save themself,
We can see them wild
Not stuffed on a shelf
If we act quickly
Without trouble or despair
We can save these creatures
We need you to care
They are beautiful
Sometimes not out but in
They can be aggressive
Or live a life without sin
Help us help them
And you will finally see
We cannot have everything
But you have the key
We had all these things
So why not the next generation
These are Mother Earth's animals
Not of our creation
They cannot come back
No matter how much you think
If they go, they go
You may be the missing link
So do your part
And help those guy's
Get up off your behind
And see the world through their eyes.

Gorilla Sighting
As the sun sets in the sky
Darkness falls across the land
The Great Apes moving with the sun
Moving as a band
Not a word would describe
Growing inside like fear
The big one leading at the front
Slow ones at the rear
They all moved alike
As though they knew
As the pack moved along
My interest grew
I watched and watched
Till they were out of sight
A part of me wanted to follow
But my head put up a fight
I slowly made my way back
Picturing what I saw
Watching all those gorillas
The creatures I adore.
