Baan Nu Se Plo was one of the original schools involved in the First Peoples' Project. Nu Se Plo is 5 km from the Burmese border and about 50 km from the nearest main town (Umphang). In the rainy season it can take 2 hours to reach Nu Se Plo. The Humanitarian Effort started when students saw a video taken of the accommodation of the boarding students at this school and raised money to purchase blankets and school supplies for the students. About 60 blankets were also sent to Thailand courtesy of QANTAS airlines. These blankets were made from pieces of scarf knitted by students from around the world as part of another I*EARN project. |
