| The
dilemma of our society Arsalan Tai, Pakistan |
|||||
I am Arsalan Tai from Pakistan; I have also some writing about child labour. It is the dilemma of our society that although we raise the slogan of justice & equality, we have yet too learn its true meaning. Being Muslims we need to practise what is right & abandon the culture of falsehood. Children are the loveliest creatures blessed by God too the mankind. But the man is not kind too them. One of harsh realities of the third world countries like us is the child labour problem. Has anyone noted what proportion of children populations working to earn bread for themselves & for their families? Has anyone observed the frustration in the eyes of a child cleaning the cars on the road side, & looking at his age fellows dressed neatly in school uniforms? Indeed we all witness such things everyday but have we done anything to curb this evil or do we consider this an evil at all? Often we think that child labour shall be stopped but this acceptance is the weakest form of faith. We don't have enough courage to get together & work to eliminate this evil. We can not force our elders to pay all their taxes honestly so that the socio-economic condition may change. We cannot force our government to work honestly for the welfare of poor. In our society poor are treated like insects. Many rich people employ children to work for them on low wages. Many children are forced by their parents to become an earning member of the family & many children are self motivated to fight against poverty. The destiny of a child is happiness. It is not their privilege but a right given to them by ALLAH. Who are we to snatch away this right from them? Can't we help to address the sufferings those poor creatures who think they are not part of the society? Where are these so called welfare organizations which raise funds in the
name of poor & at the same time beat them like beggars. Even if they are
beggars then I think it is better than becoming thieves. May GOD help us eliminate
child labour from our country. M.Arsalan Tai |
