Child labor has caught us all by surprise
I wish these sweat shops would just open their eyes
And realize their actions are hurting our kids
Putting them up for the highest bid
It's not right, it's not fair
One day they will see
Child labor is one thing our kids do not need

growing up without school
to me that is not cool.
working at jobs at an early age,
only getting paid below minimum wage,
strikes my heart with a fearless rage.
providing for your family when no one else can,
taking on responsibility like your the man.
all over the world there are children,
who have to group up fast,
while leaving their childhood in the past.
everyday I try not to take advantage of my opportunities,
as I think of all the children that wish to have a life like me.

(in memory of Iqbal Masih)

I have to work
I have no choice
I wish I could do what I like
They make me work
For nothing at all
Every night I cry
Waiting for the day to tell all
CHILD LABOR IS NO GAME
Take The Time To Feel My Pain
But One Day I Know Everything Will Be Okay

I was born to work no matter how much I get paid
my childhood and life were all delayed
I was working for a dollar a day
just hoping that my family's debt would go away
my feet hurt and I have no shoes
if I fight child labor I know Ill lose
so fight for the children do what ever it takes
'cause child labor is a big mistake

Child labor child labor
Why must you exist?
Don't you realize you have caused enough pain?
Now everyday it seems to rain
But it's no surprise
I hope every child involved will rise
You knew what you were doing all along
Now children can't have fun and run along
Why would you do this?
Don't you think you should be dismissed?
Well if no one else does
Just know that Shakira does.

The harsh conditions you bring on to children,
The risks of their lives, and they build buildings.
From clay or rock, they have very few tools,
They build from scratch with their hands, and can't go to school.
You are what help children bring their hope down,
Well my loyalist and I, it's up to us now.
We'll fight for the rights you've taken from the youth,
We'll stop you in your tracks, and limit your use.
And we will not stop, now matter how long it takes,
You are the Monster, we'll help put you in your place.
Child labor we dislike you with the strongest feeling,
Gradually, we'll reduce the number of young lives you're stealing.

Picture a little kid weaving a baseball,
Each thin thread at a time.
Working 8 hours a day like adults,
now think of it as a whole lifetime.
Unimaginable isn't it,
well for them it is real.
And I feel bad about doing my chores,
Imagine how they must feel.
In my world I am provided with a roof over my head,
its time to appreciate what I have,
How I wish happiness could spread.
My heart goes out those in labor,
Who have been held for their own fates.
Mainly because they're held for the wrong reasons,
As if they were the ones who made the mistake.
Child labor is wrong and should be no more,
Now Child labor disappear, you shall imprison no more.
If some how you do Child labor, if somehow you do,
with all of our hearts, we will hate you!
